  • Sip — The carpet in a Las Vegas casino undulates or visually warps on screen
  • Sip — Dr. Gonzo pulls a move that terrifies everyone in the vicinity including Duke
  • Sip — The red convertible Great Red Shark appears on the Vegas strip or desert highway
  • Drink Twice — Duke hallucinates a creature — bats, lizards, or other animals — in a crowd
  • Drink Twice — Duke narrates something that directly contradicts what we see happening on screen
  • Drink Twice — The hotel room is shown in its full state of catastrophic destruction
  • Shot — Duke has a moment of genuine clarity about America and immediately loses it again
