Star Wars: A New Hope Drinking Game + Cocktail
A long time ago in a bar far, far away — the Force demands you drink.
The Rules
- Sip — Ben Kenobi says 'the Force' to explain something Luke could not understand otherwise
- Sip — C-3PO lists the odds of survival and R2-D2 beeps a retort
- Sip — Han Solo leans back in the Falcon cockpit like he owns every room he enters
- Sip — Grand Moff Tarkin clasps his hands behind his back and gives an order coldly
- Sip — Luke Skywalker stares at the twin suns of Tatooine with John Williams swelling
- Drink Twice — Darth Vader force-chokes an Imperial officer who disappoints him
- Drink Twice — The Millennium Falcon makes a jump to hyperspace with a star-streak effect
- Drink Twice — The Death Star's superlaser charges and fires at a planet or ship
- Shot — Ben Kenobi stands down and lets Darth Vader cut him down in the hangar bay
- Shot — Darth Vader's TIE Fighter spins away after Han Solo blasts it from behind
- Chug — The medal ceremony — Luke, Han, and Chewie walk down the aisle to the main theme
Themed Cocktail
The Tatooine Sunset
Ingredients:
- 2 oz aged rum
- 0.75 oz fresh orange juice
- 0.5 oz grenadine
- 0.5 oz passion fruit syrup
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- 1 orange slice (for garnish)
Instructions:
- 1Pour grenadine into the bottom of a highball glass over ice
- 2Combine aged rum, orange juice, passion fruit syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice
- 3Shake for 10 seconds and strain slowly over the grenadine via a bar spoon
- 4Do not stir — let the red-orange sunset gradient form naturally
- 5Garnish with two orange slices on the rim representing Tatooine's twin suns
