The Rules
- Sip — William Wallace gives a rallying speech to Scottish soldiers before a battle
- Sip — Scottish warriors paint their faces with woad blue war paint before charging
- Sip — Robert the Bruce narrates or reflects on Wallace's story in voiceover
- Sip — The English cavalry charges and the Scots hold their long spear formation
- Sip — Princess Isabelle speaks privately to Wallace and their mutual attraction is visible
- Drink Twice — Hamish throws the large stone farther than any other man at the village games
- Drink Twice — Edward Longshanks makes a cold-blooded political decision from his throne
- Drink Twice — Wallace defeats an English patrol using improvised Scottish guerrilla tactics
- Shot — Robert the Bruce betrays Wallace on the battlefield and rides with the English
- Shot — Wallace refuses to confess or beg for mercy during his public torture in London
- Chug — Wallace screams 'FREEDOM!' with his last dying breath on the execution scaffold
Themed Cocktail
Highland Charge
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Scotch whisky
- 0.5 oz Drambuie
- 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz honey syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 oz cold Scottish ale float
Instructions:
- 1Combine Scotch, Drambuie, lemon juice, honey syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice.
- 2Shake for 12 seconds and strain into a chilled rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- 3Float cold Scottish ale gently over the back of a spoon.
- 4Garnish with a lemon twist and a single dried heather sprig or rosemary sprig across the glass.
