The Rules
- Sip — the camera drops, tilts, or goes to static during a panic sequence
- Sip — Rob Hawkins checks his phone for a signal in a destroyed Manhattan location
- Sip — Hud Platt narrates something into the camera while clearly terrified
- Sip — a Cloverfield parasite creature drops from the monster and attacks someone
- Sip — the Statue of Liberty's head lands on the street with its iconic thud
- Drink Twice — a military unit fires ineffectively at the Cloverfield monster
- Drink Twice — the group makes a decision to turn back toward danger to save someone
- Drink Twice — Marlena Diamond begins bleeding from the eyes and erupts
- Shot — the monster is seen fully in frame for the first time in overhead shot
- Shot — the Brooklyn Bridge collapses mid-escape with the monster's tail
- Chug — Rob and Beth record a final message as the Hammerdown bombing covers Central Park
Themed Cocktail
Hud's Last Shot
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz mezcal
- 0.75 oz fresh lime juice
- 0.5 oz Aperol
- 0.5 oz agave syrup
- 1 oz grapefruit juice
- 1 pinch smoked sea salt
Instructions:
- 1Combine mezcal, lime juice, Aperol, agave syrup, and grapefruit juice in a shaker with ice.
- 2Shake hard for 12 seconds and strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- 3Pinch smoked sea salt over the top.
- 4Garnish with a grapefruit wedge squeezed onto the rim.
