The Rules

  • Sip — Gollum and Sméagol argue with themselves about the Ring, the fish, or 'the precious'
  • Sip — Treebeard speaks incredibly slowly and takes multiple seconds to finish a single sentence
  • Sip — Théoden King is shown under Saruman's corruption or emerging from it
  • Sip — Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli run across open terrain in pursuit of the Uruk-hai
  • Sip — Faramir holds Frodo and Sam captive in Ithilien and questions their mission
  • Drink Twice — The Ents convene an Entmoot and debate going to war — very, very slowly
  • Drink Twice — Gandalf the White appears on horseback with the Rohirrim at Helm's Deep at dawn
  • Drink Twice — The Uruk-hai detonate the bomb wall of Helm's Deep and breach the fortress
  • Shot — The Ents destroy Isengard by flooding it — Treebeard releases the river upon Saruman's machines
  • Shot — The Army of the Dead — no, wait — Éomer's Rohirrim arrive with the sunrise at Helm's Deep
  • Chug — Aragorn rides out of the gate at Helm's Deep into ten thousand Uruk-hai — 'Ride for ruin, and the world's ending'

Themed Cocktail

Ent-Draught

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz aged rum
  • 0.75 oz green Chartreuse
  • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5 oz honey syrup
  • 2 dashes celery bitters
  • 2 oz cold green tea float

Instructions:

  1. 1Brew green tea and chill completely before using.
  2. 2Combine rum, Chartreuse, lime juice, honey syrup, and celery bitters in a shaker with ice.
  3. 3Shake for 12 seconds and strain into a tall glass or wooden cup over ice.
  4. 4Float chilled green tea over the back of a spoon to create a forest-green top layer.
  5. 5Garnish with a long rosemary branch standing upright in the glass and a cucumber wheel on the rim.
