The Rules
- Sip — Every time the group ignores an obvious warning sign and keeps driving toward Ambrose
- Sip — Every time Bo Sinclair fixes something mechanical while being suspiciously helpful
- Sip — Every time Carly notices that something about the wax figures is disturbingly lifelike
- Sip — Every time Vincent Sinclair is shown working on a wax figure in loving, horrifying detail
- Sip — Every time a character splits off from the group against everyone's better judgment
- Drink Twice — Every time a living person is discovered encased in wax and still barely conscious
- Drink Twice — Every time Bo and Vincent's backstory is revealed in another layer of flashback
- Drink Twice — Every time Paris Hilton's character is put in immediate danger the film lingers on
- Shot — Every time Carly removes wax from a person's face and reveals living skin beneath
- Shot — Every time the wax museum's heat causes the entire structure to begin melting catastrophically
- Chug — Every time the House of Wax collapses entirely and buries Vincent beneath its walls
Themed Cocktail
The Ambrose Melt
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz rye whiskey
- 0.5 oz honey liqueur
- 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice
- 0.25 oz beeswax-infused simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 large ice cube
Instructions:
- 1To make beeswax syrup, melt 1 tsp beeswax into equal parts hot water and sugar, stir, and strain when cool.
- 2Combine rye, honey liqueur, lemon juice, and beeswax syrup in a shaker with ice.
- 3Shake well for 10 seconds and strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass.
- 4Add bitters on top.
- 5Garnish and serve while the ice slowly melts — thematically appropriate.
