The Rules
- Sip — Coach Don Haskins runs a drill that pushes a player to visible exhaustion
- Sip — A Texas Western player is taunted or harassed by a hostile crowd
- Sip — Harry Flournoy pulls down an offensive rebound
- Sip — Bobby Joe Hill makes a no-look pass or flashy dribble move
- Sip — A player is shown studying or struggling with academics off the court
- Drink Twice — A racist slur or act of discrimination is directed at the team
- Drink Twice — Coach Haskins benches a white player in favor of an all-Black starting lineup
- Drink Twice — The team loses a game during the season
- Shot — Nevil Shed or another player gets injured during a game
- Shot — Texas Western makes a full-court press that leads to a turnover
- Chug — Texas Western defeats Kentucky in the 1966 NCAA Championship final
Themed Cocktail
The Full Court Press
Ingredients:
- 2 oz bourbon
- 0.75 oz fresh lemon juice
- 0.5 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and water)
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 oz ginger beer
- Ice
Instructions:
- 1Combine bourbon, lemon juice, and honey syrup in a shaker with ice.
- 2Shake hard for 15 seconds — press it.
- 3Strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass.
- 4Top with ginger beer and add two dashes of bitters.
- 5Stir once gently and serve.
