Jacob's Old Fashioned

Ingredients

• 2 oz rye whiskey
• 0.25 oz demerara syrup
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 dash orange bitters
• 1 large ice sphere
• Orange peel for garnish

Instructions

1. 1Place the large ice sphere into a chilled rocks glass
2. 2Pour rye whiskey over the ice and let it chill for 30 seconds
3. 3Add demerara syrup, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters directly to the glass
4. 4Stir with a bar spoon for 20 full rotations — Jacob would insist on technique
5. 5Express an orange peel over the glass to coat the rim with citrus oil
6. 6Perch the twisted orange peel on the ice sphere as garnish — elegant, no excess
